"See Me: Changing Perceptions" CALENDAR OF EVENTS
The Price Center & Garden is delighted to be hosting San Marcos’ 5th annual all women’s art show honoring International Women’s Day. See Me: Changing Perceptions features 88 beautiful, thought-provoking, and inspired works of art by 88 different area women. Through a wide range of subjects, media, and traditional and alternative creative techniques, the show provides voice to their unique and engaging perspectives.
This year, in celebration of our 5th anniversary, the experience is being expanded to include several additional gatherings and sharing and growing opportunities throughout the duration of the show. See Me: Changing Perceptions Opens throughout our first-floor galleries.
See Me—See the Earth: Stories in Textile Art by Karen Sophia Smith opens in the 1910 Room.

Bearing Witness: Changing Perceptions Who you “are” is based on a complex system of relationships to those known and unknown to you. This workshop will not only help you identify the voices of others on your perceptions of who you are but will give rise to your own unique voice… and the wisdom to tell the difference! Led by Glynis Christine, a storyteller/educator with over twenty years of experience in the classroom. Limited to 15. (The session will be repeated 4/26) RSVP: glynischristine@gmail.com

From the Inside Out: The Art Of Incarcerated Women A Pop-up event 10am – 3 pm in our 1910 Room. Free, open to all. Sponsored by a grant from the San Marcos Art Commission, Rough Draft works with incarcerated women in Hays County to process trauma through art and creative writing to foster self-worth and positive community connections. In this collection of art, the women have explored various concepts of self and emotion surrounding their incarceration. Program founder Brooke Pillifant will be present to talk with attendees.

Opening Reception & Program Take in the art, meet many of the artists, and enjoy a special program of poetry, dance, live music, refreshments, great conversation, and more.

My Passion Project Workshop is hosted by Women in Business to inspire turning one’s passion into a viable business. Sit with us as we dive into how prioritizing passion in business serves our community at its highest capacity. We will start a conversation about the value of making authentic connections with like minded women who uplift your passion.

Joydance is a free, open session of individual, free-form dance and movement performed in a group setting facilitated by Vicki Hartin and Molly Jane Hayes

Love and Information The Broke Thespian Theater Company returns to the Center with a devised theatre production (aka collective creation) written by a woman and directed by a woman, in which performers often improvised during the performance.
