For the fifth time, the Price Center & Garden has been named Best of Hays in the San Marcos Daily Record's annual reader's poll! The recent accolades are for Best Community Center/Social Venue and Best Art Gallery/Exhibit 2023.

"We are grateful to all who nominated and/or voted for us," said Clay DeStefano, executive director. "The Center reflects all we serve, and we are honored to serve so many," he added.

The Price Center has received past Best of Hays honors in 2017, 2019, 2020, and 2022 for Best Community Center, Live Theatre Venue, and Art Gallery. The Center also received the 2023 Mermaid Promenade Best Creative Entry for its animated mermaid tail float. And, in early 2024, the Center received recognition for its outdoor Mardi Gras decorations.

"As a non-profit community Center serving the greater San Marcos community since the early 2000s, the Price Center is very much a team sport," said DeStefano. "Today's team consists of a dedicated group of passionate volunteers and a handful of paid staff members, he added.

Awards have been part of the Center's history nearly since its creation, beginning with the Texas Downtown Association's Best Adaptive Reuse Award in 2004. Additional honors through the years have come from the Heritage Association of San Marcos, Main Street San Marcos, and the San Marcos Arts Commission.
