New Call for Art from Seeks Works Inspired by Imagination
The Price Center’s Arts Committee is kicking off its 2025 Calendar of Art Exhibits with a Call seeking art that focuses on the theme of Imagination. A Chance to Dream, the 40th community art exhibit to be hosted by the Price Center since opening its rotating community art gallery in 2017, will accept submissions on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 7 and 8 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The Call is open to all area artists. Interested artists may drop their art off at the Price Center on either day. All media accepted. A $10 application fee applies ($15 for non-Price Center members), and a 20% commission applies if the work sells.
Since creating the community art gallery in 2017, it has repeatedly been named the Best Art Gallery in the San Marcos Daily Record’s Best of Hays contest, including last year. A total of 39 exhibits have provided gallery space and exposure for more than 500 area artists since opening.
The final show of 2024, A Touch of Blue, is on display now – Jan. 4, and features the most artists to submit for a single show – 114 and a near-record number of submissions 126 individual works of art.
Shows in the Community Art Gallery at the Price Center are created, curated, and coordinated by the Price Center Arts Committee.
