NEW CALL FOR ART FROM PRICE CENTER SEEKSWORKS BY WOMEN FOR ANNUAL ART SHOW

For the fourth consecutive year, women and their art will be celebrated in conjunction with International Women’s Day in San Marcos. The Price Center Arts Committee is putting out a Call for Art by women, and those who as identify as women, for their upcoming show titled No Limits. All media will be accepted. A $10 application fee applies, and a 20% commission applies if the work sells. Due to the popularity of the annual show, interested artist are asked to submit only one piece of art. Interested artists may drop their art off at the Price Center on Tue., and Wed., March 1, and 2 from 10 am. – 5 p.m. No Limits will hang throughout Center’s galleries March 5 – April 23.

“The idea that there is no limit to what women can accomplish really appealed to all of us,” said Garrie Borden, committee member. “Plus, we thought the concept would inspire all kinds of different creative interpretations.” she added.

Local artist Debangana Banerjee created the all-women’s art celebration in 2019 at the San Marcos Public Library. Since then, the one-day event has grown into a full six-week gallery display and other activities celebrating women in all walks of art and life at the Price Center. This year’s event committee is finalizing plans for the reception, a poetry circle event, and more.

Rotating Art Shows are created, curated, and conducted by the Price Center Arts Committee and funded in part through a grant from the San Marcos Arts Commission.
