HOME-GROWN VARIETY SHOW SET FOR SEPT 15TH AT PRICE CENTER
The Ron & Marie Jager Theatre Stage will come to life on September 15th with an old-fashioned Variety Show featuring the musical, dance, spoken word, and comical talents of several San Marcans who will lend their talents to us for a full night of fun, friendship, and fundraising for the Price Center! $10 Tickets and $1 concessions will be available at the door beginning at 6:30 – and the curtain will rise at 7.
“The Price Center has been highlighting the visual and musical arts pretty well for several years now,” said Anna Broome, vice chair of the Price Center Board. “I’ve had a dream of showcasing the broader talents of the community for some time now and this Variety Show is one of what I hope will be many,” she added.
Broome’s dream will initially be realized in the form of a 90-minute fundraiser for the Center, and based on its success, could become an ongoing showcase event. Guests of this inaugural event will enjoy a lineup of acts that includes, spoken word, two piano performances, standup comedy, ballet, guitar and vocals, dojo and vocals, group dance, clowning, and vocalist.
Community Art Shows and artistic performances are conducted by the Price Center Arts Committee and funded in part through grants from the San Marcos Arts Commission.
