Main Street, Price Center team up for swing lessons

San Marcos, TX – Main Street San Marcos and the Price Center are teaming up to offer Western Swing lessons before the 24th Annual Swing on the Square slated for April 1-3 in downtown San Marcos. Lessons will be offered at the Price Center for four weeks, beginning Mon., March 7 – Mon., March 28 from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. A $5 donation is requested.

Swing on the Square features three days of events and activities centered on Texas’ original Western Swing Music and the legends that helped create the genre. Among the featured performances are the Texas Western Swing Hall of Fame Show and the Texas Playboys.

“Because Western Swing is different from traditional Swing dancing, we wanted to give folks a chance to learn the moves before the Festival so they can get up and dance during all the performances if they’d like,” said Mary Chadwell Seaborne, the Main Street volunteer who is heading up the lessons.
